Role summary
Nickel City Funding is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans, guide borrowers through the process, and manage files from application through closing while meeting all licensing and compliance requirements.

Work arrangement
Hybrid (mix of remote and in-office work)

Compensation
Salary + commission, based on experience

Start timeline
As soon as available (timing based on candidate availability and onboarding)

Key responsibilities
Generate and manage a pipeline of mortgage loan opportunities through referrals, networking, and lead follow-up
Consult with borrowers to assess goals, explain loan options, and recommend appropriate programs
Take complete loan applications and gather required documentation
Review borrower information for accuracy and completeness before submission
Coordinate with processors, underwriters, title, and other parties to keep files moving to closing
Maintain compliance with all applicable federal/state requirements and company policies
Provide clear, timely communication to borrowers and partners throughout the transaction

Must-have requirement (deal-breaker)
Must be a licensed or registered loan officer (NMLS)

Preferred qualifications
Proven sales or origination experience with consistent production
Strong communication, responsiveness, and follow-through
Solid understanding of common mortgage products and qualification guidelines
Comfort working in a performance-driven environment
